Abstract

This brief, case study reports on a clinical sport psychological skills training intervention using HeartMath techniques with a 12 year old boy. The pre-test and post-test, process and outcome evaluative, research design included qualitative and quantitative, integrated and mixed method techniques, in the form of psychometric testing and diarizing of qualitative experiential descriptions. Findings indicated significant improvements in psychophysiological coherence, sense of coherence, resilience, mood, psychological well-being and mental skills. Findings endorse theoretical principles and practical guidelines for implementing and evaluating clinical sport psychological and HeartMath interventions.
